Grist Iron offers a high quality, casual food service, where you order directly from the kitchen (separate from the bar).
The local favorite is the pizza, but their sandwiches & salads are also a great choice.
Grist Iron is the place to be on Seneca Lake. Locals & tourists flock their en masse, & for good reasons. Grist Iron hosts a plethora of entertainment on their patio overlooking one of the best views in the Finger Lakes (and one of the only places open past sunset). They seem to host live music every Friday, Saturday & Sunday, you can check their list of events here.
In order to hold the rank of “The place to be” they can’t just rely on their live music and beautiful views. They are one of the only places on the East side of the lake to get some good food, their craft beers are solid with a nice variety, & they even have lodging with incredible views!
Their interior space has been honed in over the years to become a beautiful space. The large rounded bar with a clear sight to the fermentation vessels, the high ceilings, miscellaneous kegs and barrels assures you that you’re about to get a good craft beer. Then they top it off with the opened garage doors sucking in the lake breeze & a large outdoor patio with umbrella shaded picnic tables: You would never believe you were in New York.
Grist Iron does get pretty busy on the weekends. Don’t worry though, they have the space to handle the crowds and on the busy days, they do a good job keeping the beer flowing. Give yourself a little extra time to grab some food on a busy Saturday: they do make a lot of the food items fresh.

Founded in 2015, Grist Iron Brewing Co. is a microbrewery based in Hector, NY, in the heart of the NYS Finger Lakes region.
GIB boasts a unique variety of brews - all created on-site - primarily made in the traditional American style with our own unique twist thrown in. We have a passion for craft beer that we want to share with everyone, so we produce a wide range of styles and flavors that can satisfy any drinker.
GIB offers a menu of fresh pub-style chews that always pair well with what's on tap. Visitors can also extend the fun and book one of our newly renovated on-site rooms available at The Lodge at Grist Iron!
